Dr Franklin Butuyuyu
Graduated in 2003 from Makerere University and in 2008 obtained the MRCGP (UK) in London with the Royal College of General Practitioners where he worked in various Central and West London hospitals training in Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Emergency Medicine at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
Whilst in London he completed training in and obtained the Diploma in Paediatrics and Child health (DCH UK) and the Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (UK)
Together with his family they moved from the UK to Victoria in 2009 where he has held the FRACGP since 2009.
He and his family enjoy living and working in Rural and regional Victoria for the last 16 years and has developed a genuine passion and interest in furthering the health and wellbeing of Regional and Rural Victorian Population.
He joins North medical with a broad range of clinical interests having worked extensively in Complex Chronic Disease, paediatrics with keen interest in childhood development and behaviour conditions, general dermatology and skin cancer surgery.
Franklin and his family moved to Ballarat 9 years ago where their children studied at Ballarat Clarendon College from year 7 to year 12.
He is a keen Liverpool supporter who enjoys playing tennis, running or walking to enjoy the beautiful country side and most especially spending time with his family.
Dr Ellie O'Connor
Ellie completed her Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery in 2017 after a Biomedical Science (Nutrition + Exercise Science) at Deakin University. She worked at Ballarat Base Hospital for 4 years, with experience in adult internal medicine and obstetrics/gynaecology.
Ellie holds qualifications in women’s health (DRANZCOG) and paediatrics (SCHP) and a Masters of Reproductive Medicine. She has a passion for antenatal care/gynaecology, chronic disease management, general medicine and lifestyle medicine including nutrition and exercise. Ellie also completed additional studies in Agricultural Health and Medicine.
Growing up in The Grampians, Ellie loves the country and now raises a young family on a small property. Outside of work she enjoys family time, keeping active and being outdoors.
Dr Sarah Bothe
Sarah graduated from Monash University in 2010 and worked across a range of medical roles throughout Melbourne before happily settling into general practice.
Sarah loves the variety that general practice offers and the chance to genuinely get to know her patients and their stories. She values clear, down-to-earth communication and aims to create a relaxed, friendly, and non-judgmental space where patients feel comfortable asking questions — no matter how big or small.
Outside of work, Sarah loves cooking and sharing good food with wonderful friends, spending time with her husband, two crazy boys, and her much-loved dog. She is a very enthusiastic Richmond Tigers supporter (she promises not to bring footy opinions into the consult… unless asked).
Dr Kerry Hewitt
Kerry graduated from Deakin University with the intent to specialise in General Practice. Prior to that she enjoyed a career in nursing.
Kerry is interested in all aspects of general practice including acute presentations, chronic disease management, and preventative medicine. Kerry enjoys working with patients to support their overall health. The goal is to help people live as well and as happily as possible.
She holds additional qualifications in weight management- and no that does not just mean injections! Self esteem, fun and knowledge are vital.
Outside of work, Kerry enjoys balancing staying active with relaxation. She is also learning to play golf, and has a long way to go!
Dr Adam Girardin
Dr Adam Girardin is originally from Canada, completed his BSc in 2008 in Microbiology and Immunology, working in medical research in Canada, New Zealand then Australia before retraining in Medicine.
He graduated from Monash University in 2018 and completed his Fellowship with the RACGP and Fellowship in Advanced Rural GP in 2024.
Apart from our Clinic he works in the Emergency Department at Grampians Health and assists some of our local surgeons at St John of God. He is interested in all ages and life stages.
He is an avid ice hockey fan and mediocre player, and he was assigned Hawthorn at the border so don't hold it against him.

Cancellations & Non-Attendances
To avoid a non-attendance fee, we kindly ask that you provide at least 2 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Failure to attend or cancel within this timeframe will incur a $30.00 fee, payable before any future appointments can be scheduled (not covered by Medicare)
